  Giuseppe's place is brilliantly located close to Siracusa and nearby beaches, and there is a bakery a minute's walk away and restaurant (though this wasn't open in April... read more when we visited). The pool is great for our kids, 3 and 7, and had the weather been better we would have spent all our time there and at the beach. As is was rain dominated and we discovered Ortigia, the Archaelogical Park and nearby Noto.

The location at first didn’t seem great, but exploring we found a caffé with meals and fresh bread at a 3 minute walk, a small market with fruits, a very nice restaurant at a 5 minute walking distance and a beach (half sandy, half rocky).
The house is well decorated!
It was a very positive experience and I wish we can go back there in the future!

Lovely flat in a great location for exploring Ortigia Island

Nonostante la disponibilità dell’host, persona gentilissima, abbiamo avuto problemi con l’energia elettrica (per due giorni senza lavastoviglie), con internet (non ha mai funzionato), con il televisore e con gli scarichi (a volte la casa si riempiva di cattivi odori).

Really Excellent. The appartment was clean and tidy. The size and setup of all the rooms was great. The terrace was excellent. Giuseppe has a chalk board on the wall... read more in the appartment with recommendations for beaches, restaurants and alike. Herbs and spices left by the previous guests had been left tidily in the kitchen for us to use - this was very much appreciated. The appartment had everything we needed.

Location is great. In and amongst a nice part of town with shops and restaurants, we felt safe throughout our stay. From the terrace you can hear the bustle of the streets below, but this was not unpleasant. It is a short walk (<10min) to the island of Ortigia, and similarly within walking distance to the archaeological site. We drove in and out of Syracuse a few times during our stay, and though (Hidden by Airbnb) maps took us a diferent route everytime, it's actually pretty painless, and so probably fair to describe as well located for driving in and out of the city. The coach and train station are well within walking distance <5min. Driving in Sicily requires a bit of courage and the busy one way system around the appartment requires some care and patients to navigate when looking for a space, but we managed to find one within 2min or so each time.

I can't imagine a better place to stay in Syracuse. I will certainly recommend this to friends and family.

The pool... read more is 8x4 m2 and quite small and primarily for kids. The villa itself is also quite small and only suitable for families with small kids.

The villa should be better equipped and better maintained. We were not fully satisfied with the cleanliness as the outdoor kitchen was not cleaned in a long time. Overall, the villa has good potential but we were left disappointed during our stay.

Giuseppe is a good host and responds promptly to any questions and was quite helpful.

Overall not good value for money as it is relatively expensive compared to similar villas . Hopefully the host takes the feedback positively as the villa has the potential to be really good. We booked the villa based on the past reviews and I do think that if maintained and better equipped, the future guests will really enjoy the stay there.
